Management Coaching
When was the last time you heard someone jokingly suggest they were perfect? We've all said it, so why the laughter? Because we see humour in the fact that we are not perfect. The unflattering truth is, no matter how good we are, we do not excel in all things. Fortunately, most of us have the capacity to understand the benefits of self improvement, and the desire to embrace the opportunities to do so.
Our Management Coaching focuses on a programme called Emotional Intelligence (Ei)1. Developed by a team of occupational psychologists, it's used around the world by organisations to address and action management and leadership success. It utilises a diagnostic tool to provide the focus for change and a clear route to development planning.
It's predicated on the self-perceived ability to identify, assess and manage the emotions of one's self, and others and of groups. Achieving insight into the relationship between the various parts of Ei (one's self and others) creates the ability to improve one's own performance and deal more effectively with those with whom we work, whether our own teams, customers, suppliers or stakeholders.
The programme is straightforward, but rich in uncovering insights that may impede individual or team performance. It's is offered in two ways: individual, or team.
How it works
The first step is a briefing session between our fully trained and accredited Coach and you, so we understand the areas you feel are impeding your effectiveness. Subsequent to the briefing, an online questionnaire will be sent to participants to be completed (this takes only 20 minutes for an individual to complete, or 10 minutes per person if the programme is team based).
When all the questionnaires have been completed, the Coach will then apply the diagnostic, which will identify key issues, and areas that need to be resolved if the root cause is to be addressed. For an individual, a personal face to face session with the Coach follows to work through the report; this can be expected to take 2-3 hours. If the programme involves a team, an exploration session is undertaken (as a team), and usually lasts about 3-4 hours.
In some cases, where issues are complex, or require multi faceted approaches to achieve a defined resolution, our experience suggests additional workshops can be helpful, and it is possible to arrange follow up sessions with the Coach.
